A Truce

Unless you are fortunate enough to have the proverbial charmed life then there will inevitably be times you need a break...a truce with the world at large. I think life in general is unforgiving - not for the faint of heart.

Rarely are we given second chances to get it right. We wade into dangerous territory everyday believing our wits or savvy will keep us safe and sound. Seemingly unaware every new decision, good and bad, ultimately sculpts who we become and where we are headed.

Today I'm posting a pic I took at the Japanese Gardens in Springfield Missouri.

Funky Squirrel

It's been raining steadily for about two days now. The yard is starting to come to life with masses of budding trees and shrubs. The Iris and Hosta's are also starting to poke through.

And the bird activity is phenomenal. So last night I dropped into Wild Birds Unlimited. It's a shop specializing in everything to do with birds in addition to selling work from local artisans which is a nice departure from the typical model of a corporate franchise.

So even though I went in to check out their very funky squirrel feeders and bird houses I came out with a tentative meeting date to show one of my Booga heads. Life is so cool.

Brush The Stone

It was bound to happen. I would eventually have to brush the stone dust off and take to the streets. So far this week I've dropped in on about half a dozen garden ware retailers to flog my goods.

The big push for the garden industry is around the May 24th weekend...at least in my neck of the woods. Now it's not 'carved in stone' but that date seems to bring everyone and their wallets out to their local garden center.

And though it's too early to call it but I've had some very positive feedback from several buyers. You can believe once something is definite you'll be reading about it right here.
